Taken (2008) Review
Film Analysis
Taken is an
extremely well-known and well-loved English-language French action thriller
film starring a retired CIA agent Brian Mills (played by Liam Neeson) who
travels across Europe to try and find his teenage daughter Kim and her friend
Amanda who have been kidnapped while on a trip to Paris by Albanian human
traffickers for sexual slavery.
"I don't
know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I
can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set
of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me
a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the
end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I
will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." - Brian Mills
(after a long pause) "Good luck." - Marko
The films storyline
becomes more complicated and compelling as the story develops and definitely
had me on edge. I enjoyed watching this movie with my family and friends and I
would recommend this film to anyone looking for a good action movie to watch. This
film is the first of three from the Taken Film Series so after watching this,
you can also watch the other two as they flow nicely together.
RATING: 4/5
